Mr. Poole was born in Floyd County, Oct. 6, 1926, son of the late Benjamin Franklin Poole and Roxanne Jones Poole*. He was of the Holiness faith, an Army veteran and prior to retirement was employed as a sheet metal worker.
Survivors include: three daughters, Kay Weeks, and Wanda Young, both of Rome, and Alene Williams, Shannon; four sons, Willie Alton Poole and Wilburn Poole, both of Rome, John Poole, Plainville, and Randall Poole, Calhoun; four sisters, Roxie Yarbrough, Patty Sue Garrett, Janice Hughes and Mozelle Huckaby, all of Rome; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Henderson and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Elgin Williams officiating. Interment will be at East View Cemetery.
