Mrs. Grossnickle was born in Fulton County, Indiana, on July 26, 1905. She was the daughter of the late Leander Edwin and Margaret Brown Alger. Mrs. Grossnickle was preceded in death by her husband, Robert James Grossnickle; and two sons, James Robert Grossnickle and Harold N. Grossnickle. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Detriot Michigan.
Survivors include one son, Paul E. Grossnickle and wife Peggy of Burgaw, N.C.; four daughters, Betty Dunkel of East Lansing, Michigan, Frances Nixon and husband Roy of Sparta, TN, Susan G. Barnhill and husband, John Sr. of Rocky Point, N.C.; and another daughter, Jane; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
