Alvin L. Ramsey, 87, Bloomington, died at 11:59 p.m. Saturday (June 18, 2011) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Survivors are his wife, Clara Ramsey; two sons, Ernest (Beverly) Stewart, Detroit, Michigan and Melvin (Veronica) Ramsey, Cincinnati Ohio; four daughters, Carolyn Hawkins and Brenda Ramsey, both of Detroit, Michigan; Gail (George) Brown, Dawson, Ga. and Kathy Ramsey, Detroit, Michigan; five stepdaughters, Sandra Cummings, Bloomington; Debra Williams, Farmington Hills, Michigan; Mardra (Reginald) Thomas, Edwardsville and Barbara (Anthony) Hill and Alexandra (William) Travis, all of Clinton Township, Michigan; 28 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Vera L. Archibald, Memphis, Tennessee; one brother, John R. (Beverly) Ramsey, Toledo, Ohio; three sisters-in-law, Dolly Aaron, St. Louis, Mo.; Loretta Springer, Columbus, Ga. and Verma Johnson, Garland Texas; two aunts, Marie Robertson and Eloise Hicks of St. Louis, Mo.; one godchild, Erica Fuller, Detroit, Michigan and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
