He was the only son of Caroyl Gene Ancill and George Kenneth “GK” Griffin. George had an older sister Fay Jeanne Griffin who was 5.5 years old when George was born.
George died when he was 4 weeks and 6 days old. I believe he died in Hilo abt the 15th March
Buried by his maternal Grandmother, Martha Redmond Roe Ancill, died 1958, of Honolulu and his only female cousin, Martha Jean Cushnie who died at 4 weeks old, of Honolulu, on the 18 March 1940.
George’s father, George Kenneth “Ken” Griffin organised for George’s body to be sent to his maternal Grandparents at Honolulu where they were to “take care” of his burial. Then GK Griffin instructed that George was NEVER to be mentioned at all by anyone. George’s sister, Fay Jeanne Griffin Rickert, 5.5 years old at the time of his birth has NO knowledge about anything that happened at the time of his birth or anything after.
George did NOT have a headstone/marker on his grave for 75 years, until July 2015.
Richard, Director, of Woolsey Mortuary Service personally installing the marker at Diamond Head Memorial Park.
Woolsey Mortuary Service went up & beyond to get this done with many challenges. They are a Family owned business that gives unbelievable service, cares for local families, employees locals and keeps profits in Hawaii.
