Willard was the last of five children born to Charles Greenwood Pratt and Ella Viola Jewett. He served with the U.S.Marine expeditionary force in France from January 1918, to August 1919, at the battles of Belleau Wood and Chateau Thierry, where he was wounded, gassed, blinded and left for deat on the battlefield for a day. He regained his eyesight after nine months of blindness. He married Helen Eunice Trammel August 7, 1922, and they had three children: Dorcas, Sharon and Charles. Helen was killed in a car accident April 21, 1931. Charles next married Guri Lenore Tweto; they had no children. Willard was a ticket agent for Great Northern Railroad for 45 years. Last rites with military service at Iver's Funeral Chapel, Sunday, December 21, 1958; Remains shipped to Minneapolis, MN, and lay is state at Albin Funeral Chapel; interment with firing squad at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. I believe his second wife Guri is buried next to him in Grave #1658.
