Born Jan. 14, 1937, in Monroe County, he was the son of James and Grace (Brock) McClary. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Wayne Blackwell Construction Company, was a member of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church and was a Navy veteran of the Korean conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon (Kelley) McClary; two sons, J.D. McClary and David McClary, both of Bloomington; one brother, Kenneth McClary of Orleans; and four sisters, Ethel Ray, Letha Zimmerman, Edna Smith and Viola Sturgeon, all of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
