Evelyn Lillian "Mickie" Ballew, age 86, of Clarksville, passed away, Friday, December 06, 2013, at Regency Nursing Center. She was born October 18, 1927, in Austin to Carl and Hilda Madsen Peterson. Mickie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clarksville. She owned and operated her own daycare center for several years where she touched many children through her patient, selfless nurturing and care. The legacy of her Christian teachings will live on through the lives of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and those who passed through her daycare. Mickie will always be remembered as someone who loved without condition and put other's needs before her own. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren Ballew in 2011; and her brother, Cotton Peterson

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Gossett officiating. Burial will follow in Blanton Creek Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Survivors include two sons, Duane Ballew and wife Tammy of Ft. Worth and David Ballew and wife Wendy of Austin; two daughters, Janet Bean and husband Alan of Clarksville and Paula Nichols and husband Jeff of Paris; one sister, Betty Galloway of Katy; her grandchildren, Shannon Ramirez, Darsi Martinez, Brett Ballew, Scott Ballew, Grant Ballew, Brad Ballew, Jeff Ballew, Jennifer Kuhlengel, Carrie Hughes, Jonathan Nichols and Jack Nichols, and eleven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 1501 Hwy. 82 W., Clarksville, Texas 75426.
