Funeral services for Doris Gibbs Cockburn, 74, of Peoria, Arizona, are scheduled for 2 p. m., Feb. 11 at the Bay City Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Michael Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
Doris Cockburn passed away Feb. 4 in Maryvale Samaritan Hospital.
She was born Jan. 28, 1924 in Yarrellton to parents Carroll Thomas and Maxie Lou Underwood Gibbs.
She was a former resident of Granite Shoals and a member of the First Baptist Church in Marble Falls.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Herb Franks of Avondale, Arizona; son, Mike Leath of Chandler, Ariz.; sister, Grace Glauser of San Antonio; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille and Morris Richardson of Bay City; Irene and John Hale of San Antonio; brother, Elmer T. Gibbs of Onalaska; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ken and Beth Gibbs of Houston and Harrell and Etta Jean Gibbs of Bay City; and five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Carl "Speck" Cockburn on Aug. 29, 1997; and grandson, Perry Ashby III; her parents, and two sisters, Lacy Jewell Gibbs Cleek and Mildred Lorraine Gibbs Getty, and three brothers, William Carroll Gibbs, Joe Taylor "Pete" Gibbs and Coleman Thomas Gibbs.
Pallbearers are Donald Richardson, Kenneth A. Gibbs, Larry Gibbs, John A. Hale, Flirsh Ermis, Steven Ermis and Bobby Bonorden.
