Francis V. Bourdon, Jr., age 81 and a lifelong Wilmington, DE resident passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. Mr. Bourdon was a maintenance supervisor for Monsanto Chemical Company until his retirement. He served his country as a United States Marine during World War II. His memberships included the Newark VFW, Oak Orchard/Riverdale American Legion Post, the Moose Lodge, Holy Family Church and the Post Cana. Mr. Bourdon is survived by 2 sons; and a daughter, all of NJ. Also surviving is his brother and his wife of Wilmington; his devoted friend; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sister, Priscilla A. Leonard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, December 3rd, at 10:30 am at Holy Family Church, 15 Gender Rd., Newark. Friends and family are invited to visitation on Thursday evening, December 2nd, between 7 and 9 pm at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Holy Family Church, 15 Gender Rd., Newark, DE 19711.
