FIFTY-ONE YEARS A MERCHANT.
W. W. Davis, Knox City's oldest merchant, died at his home there Friday, April 29, after a short illness. He had been in the general merchandise business at Knox City for fifty-one years.
William Wallace Davis was a son of Marshal H. and Mary J. Davis, and was born August 13, 1861, at New Boston, Linn county, Missouri, being one of a family of ten. He married Miss Lillie Hainline June 20, 1889, and to them were born one son and three daughters. One daughter died in infancy, and his wife died in1923. The surviving children are: Harold H. Davis and Mrs. Floyd Simpson, of Knox City, and Mrs. Orville Bates, of Hesperus, Colorado.
