Angie was born in Bovey, Minn. She attended Itasca Junior College and the University of Minnesota, and taught business education for five years. When the Iron Mountain VA hospital was in the talking stages, Angie thought it would be a great gesture to have her students take the U.S. Civil Service exam for federal service. This would give them opportunity for employment should the hospital become a reality. To give them confidence, she took the test with them.
The hospital opened in 1950, and Angie became one of its two first employees. She worked as executive secretary/public relations director for 28 years, under nine directors.
Angie was a member of the Chippewa Club, Pine Grove Country Club, and Womens Club.
She is survived by her two nieces, Susan Morgan (Peter) and Paula Leahy (Tim), both of Bloomington, Minn.; two great-nieces and two great-nephews; as well as three great-great nephews and a great-great niece.
She enriched their lives with her strength, determination, and humor. She will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Raffin in 2001; parents, Mary and Perno Concetto; sister, Adeline Coduti; and brother, Peter Concetto.
Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Daniel Zaloga will officiate.
Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
