Avery W. Bollman 84 of Waverly Iowa died on Thursday Feb 13 2003 at the Waverly Municipal Hospital of natural causes. Avery was born on June 4 , 1918 in Luana, Iowa the sone of Ira and Edna(Perkins) Bollman. He attended school in Luana, and graduated as one of the eight students in his class in 1938. On Feb 5. 1942 Avery entered the United States Army, During this time he served in the Europeon Theater. Avery recieved a Honorable Discharge on November 19 1945. On January 21 ,1946 Ge was united in marriage to ALetha Thompson of Monona, Iowa. the couple farmed in the Monona are for 13 years until Avery went to work for the M-F-L school. as a custodian, in 1965 they moved to Waverly where he began work at Wartburg College, he retired in 1984. he then worked on small engines at his home and spent time fishing . Avery is survied by his wife Aletha, one son Dennis and his wife Carolyn of Waverly. one daughter in law Terry Bollman of Waverly, four grandchildren Tonya Gerbracht and husband Chad , Jay BOllman , of Des Moines, Adam Bollman of Cresco,and Ben BOllman of Waverly. one great grandchild Ali Gerbracht. three brothers Clyde and wife Lucile of Charles city, Everett and wife Dora of Luana, and Leo of Monona, sister in law Gladys Bollman of Monona. He is perceded in Death by his parents,one son Larry in 1999 on brother Don Bollman and two sisters. Leatrice Sharp and Helen Price.
