NEWPORT, Rena R. (Tremblay) Putnam, 73, of Syndicate Street died Aug. 3, 1998, at Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont.
She was born Dec. 9, 1924, the daughter of Napoleon and Rose (Johnson) Tremblay in Marlborough, Mass.
Mrs. Putnam attended school in Marlborough and had lived in Newport for the past 52 years.
She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Francis Putnam, who died in 1995.
Members of her surviving family include two sons, Allen R. Putnam of Rome, N.Y. and Lee A. Putnam of Newport; three daughters, Gloria C. Houle of Wilmington, N.C., Barbara M. Tenney of Marco Island, Fla., and Virginia A. Papanicolas of Sanabell, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held Aug. 7. Funeral services were held Aug. 8 at the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home. Burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery, Newport.
