Joy Marie Davis Lafitte
Services for Mrs. Joy Marie Davis Lafitte, 59, were held at 2
p.m., Friday, September 15, at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic
Church. Officiating will be Monsignor Norman Buvens, first cousin
to Mrs. Lafitte, assisted by Monsignor Carson LaCaze, pastor of
St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church. Burial will be in Forest
Park West.
Mrs. Lafitte passed away, Wednesday, September 13, at 4:20 a.m.,
at Schumpert Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. Mrs.
Lafitte was born in Many, and had been a resident of Shreveport
for 40 years. She was a LPN at Schumpert Medical Center, and a
member of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church.
Joy was preceded in death by her father, Lois Francis Davis; and
her son, Thomas Michael Lafitte.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, James E. "Jack"
Lafitte of Shreveport; mother, Leattie Davis of Many.
