JOSEPH ROLLIN McCORD Jr.

Joseph Rollin McCord Jr. of Dothan died at the V.A. Hospital in Tuskogee, Alabama Sunday, October 15, 2009. He was 73. Memorial Sevices were held on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Plummer officiating.

Mr. McCord was born on February 6, 1936 in Lubbock, Texas to the late Joseph Rollin McCord Sr. and Lillian Lavoie McCord. He lived in Eatonton, Georgia prior to moving to Dothan in 2006. While living at Eatonton, he was voted Citizen of the Year in 2003.

Mr. McCord was self-employed as a Master Locksmith until his retirement. He was an avid church supporter who loved his Lord. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Judy Peters McCord, Dothan; two daughters, Brenda Fielding of Dallas, Texas, Tonya Yanke of Gruver, Texas; one sister, Mary Jane McCord of San Angelo, Texas; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a stepson, Bill Green of Dothan; two step-daughters, Vicky Trevey and Becky Green, both of Phoenix, Arizona.

Southern Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
