Frank Richard Davis Sr., 72, Killen, Ala., died Sunday, May 5, 2002, after an extended illness.Mr. Davis was born in Corinth, Miss. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Florence, and later First United Methodist Church in Killen. He was a member of Sheffield Rotary Club and a Free Mason in Milan, Tenn.Mr. Davis graduated from Corinth High School in 1947, Hinds Junior College, Raymond, Miss., in 1949 and Auburn University in 1951, with a BS degree in industrial management. He was employed by Proctor Gamble in Milan, Tenn., from 1952-1956. In 1957, Mr. Davis went to work for Reynolds Metals Listerhill Reduction Plant in Sheffield, Ala. He held numerous management positions at Listerhill Reduction Plant. In 1972, Mr. Davis joined Reynolds International, working in Hamburg, Germany, from 1972-1976; Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela, from 1976-1980; and from 1980-1982 in Baie Comeau, Quebec, Canada. In 1982, he returned to the Listerhill Plant as superintendent and in 1990 was promoted to plant manager, a position he held until his retirement in 1993.Preceding him in death were his parents, Sidney L. and Francis Conn Davis.Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Wimberly Davis; sons Frank Richard Davis Jr, Martin Wimberly Davis, and daughter Cynthia Jo Davis. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at Spry Serenity Chapel, Florence. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Spry Serenity Chapel, with burial to follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.Pallbearers will be John Claunch, Joe Dill, Bill Campbell, Fred Forester, Claude Wilson, Bit Blasingame, Charles Taylor and John Morrow.Honorary pallbearers are Nolan Richards, T.O. Norris, John T. Jackson, Bob Spear, Dave Gruber, Jerry Horner, Buck Alexander, Travis Turberville and Carl Green.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Parkinsons Foundation Inc. Development Department, c/o Lois Heffernana or Julian Pearson, 1501 NW Ninth Ave., Miami, FL 33136-1494.
