Mr. Hartman was born in Point of Rocks the son of the late Edward Leon and Matilda Luticia Ayers Hartman.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virginia Smith Hartman, nieces Virginia Hartman, Marie Huffer raised as their children; five brothers, Leo W. Hartman, Tulsa, Okla., Austin E. Hartman, Frederick, Claude Hartman, Point of Rocks, Robert H. Hartman, Point of Rocks, Charles J. Hartman, Frederick; four sisters, Mrs. Alice B. Hawkins, Woodbridge, Va., Mrs. Mabel J. Welsch, Albany, N. Y., Mrs. Patsy L. Burdett [sic], Woodbridge, Va., Mrs. Anna R. Hill, Buckeystown; three aunts, two uncles, 19 nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hartman was a member of the Brunswick First United Methodist Church, the Church Men's Bible Class, member and past master of Brunswick Lodge No. 191 A.F.A. Masons, and past patron of Brunswick Chapter 97 O.E.S. Mr. Hartman was a retired engineer with the B & O Railroad and member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Engineers.
Mr. and Mrs. Hartman celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary November 3, 1968.
Friends may call at the M. R. Etchison & Son Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Saturday evening 7 to 9, Sunday 1 to 9. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. The Rev. John G. Hamilton, his pastor will officiate. The Brunswick Chapter No. 97 Order of Eastern Star will hold memorial services at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 7:30. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
