Kenneth M. "Bub" Perry, 76, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord, on Monday, Jan. 25, 2010.

Ken grew up in Nashville where he attended Litton High School. He graduated from Tennessee Tech University and is a veteran of the United States Navy.

Ken has lived in Chattanooga for the past 52 years and was retired from the IBM Corp. He was active in the Red Bank Lions Club and Red Bank United Methodist Church. He enjoyed all sports especially golf and fishing.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, A.D. and Louise Frey Perry; brothers, A.D. Perry Jr. and Edwin Perry; sisters, Helen Perry and Evelyn Rives.

Ken (affectionately known as "Possum" by family and friends) is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kay Fry Perry, of Chattanooga; three daughters, Dawn Cantwell and her husband, Peter, of Morristown, Jill Griffin and her husband, Chuck, of Knoxville; Kristy Vigil and her husband, Greg, of Morristown; six grandchildren, Holly Cantwell Clark and her husband, Chris, of Knoxville; Megan Cantwell, of Morristown, Perry and Chris Griffin, of Knoxville, Emily and Haley Vigil, of Morristown; sisters, Mary Louise Grissom, Justine Duke, Bonnie Marrs and Nancy Hoover; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Jan. 28, 2010, at Red Bank United Methodist Church, 3800 Dayton Blvd., Red Bank, TN 37415.

A Celebration of Life service will follow at 7 p.m. at Red Bank United Methodist Church.

Interment will be held on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Red Bank United Methodist Church, 3800 Dayton Blvd., Red Bank, TN 37415.
