BUCKSPORT and ALTOONA, Fla. - John D. Albert died Dec. 18, 2008, at a health care facility in Florida. He was born Feb. 15, 1925, in Oakland, Md., the son of John Peter Albert and Arabine (Runnells) Albert. John was a life member of Maurice W. Miles Post No. 4527 VFW in Orrington. He served with the Combat Engineers in Paris and St. Lo, France, in World War II. He is survived by four daughters, Judy Reynolds, Carol Ochs, Jonnie Albert and Jonnie Coolidge; his brother, James "Buster" Albert; grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Fern; father-in-law, Tim Nason; two brothers, Philip and Dalton; and two sisters, Genevieve Sirois and Beverly Fairfield. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Jan. 10, 2009, at East Orrington Congregational Church with Pastor Carl Strieber officiating. Burial will be held in the spring at Pine Hill Cemetery, Orrington, Maine.
