Services for Clytus Jefferson Angel, 80, were at 11 a.m. Monday at Angel Grove Baptist Church with Revs. Eugene Burgess and James Cohorn officiating. Burial was in Seven Springs Cemetery with K. L. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Center in charge.
Mr. Angel died Saturday at The Meadows.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Brenda Angel and Jeff and Debbie Angel of Jacksonville; a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Danny Craven of Jacksonville; three sisters, Pauline Johnson, Mary Hyde and Betty Noah, all of Jacksonville; two brothers, Eugene Angel and Roscoe Angel, both of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Brad Angel, Amy Angel Boothe, Will Angel, Andy Craven, Rachel Angel, Todd Craven and Chase Craven; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Brad Angel, Slade Boothe, Will Angle, Andy Craven, Todd Craven and Eddie Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were members of the adult men’s Sunday school class and deacons of Angel Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Angel was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He owned and operated a cotton gin and built homes for more than 40 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Sue Johnson Angel.
