J. S. COUNTERMAN DIES; PNEUMONIA HASTENS DEATH
John S. Counterman died at the Pekin Hospital this morning. He was brought in the hospital from his home in Manito several days ago and an attack of pneumonia hastened his death.
He was the son of Jacob and Sophia Brees Counterman and was born in Glasford, Il., September 28, 1904. His marriage was to Edith Boyer and occurred six years ago. Until a year and a half ago he had been employed at the Kingston Mines.
He is survived by his wife his parents, a daughter, Helen, three sisters, Mrs. Edith Jent, Pekin; Mrs. Clara Collins, Kingston Mines; Mrs. Emma Spradling, Manito, and a brother, Edward Counterman, South Pekin.
The funeral will be held at the Abts Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial will be in the Kingston Mines Cemetery.
