OBITUARY
1997-September 12th-The Paris News, Paris, Texas-James Herbert "Herb" Perkins-CLARKSVILLE-James Herbert "Herb" Perkins, 85, of Clarksville died Friday, Sept 12, 1997, at Baylor Hospital, Dallas. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with the Rev. James Brown and Dr. John Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. He was born Nov. 21, 1911, in Volney, Va. to Gordon and Kate Jones Perkins. He was the retired owner of Perkins Garage and served in the Army during World War II. Surviving are his wife, Mary; a daughter and son-in-law, Kitty and Rex Lee Edwards Jr. of Powderly; and a grandson, Rex Lee Edwards III of Powderly. Pallbearers will be Henry Hooser, Jay Smith, Reid Ussery, Don Humphrey, Bruce Emery and Billy Mauldin.
