In his earlier years, Darrell was into motorcycling, and motorcycle and automotive mechanics, although never did either professionally and lived a fairly simple life. Into his 40s, he began experiencing severe heart problems and suddenly died on June 27th, 2011 following a scooter crash in Thomasville. It was suspected that the crash was a result of hearth failure, some even suspected foul play due to the head injury, but could have been a result of the crash as well. However, the hospital never released the autopsy report.
