NEY - Following and illness of several months, Harold Denver Impton, 61, of route 1 Ney, died Wednesday afternoon in Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
An area resident most of his lifetime, he was born Oct. 18, 1915 in Bryan, the son of Floyd and Ethel (Deck) Impton, and was employed as a truck driver.
His marriage April 8, 1936 was to Laura Arnold, who survives.
Mr. Impton was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Hicksville.
Surviving in addition to the wife are two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Mildred) Zimmer, route 1 Sherwood, and Mrs. Donald (June) Hutchins, route 4 Defiance; a son, Donald D. Impton, route 1 Ney; his mother, Mrs. Clyde (Ethel) Shull, Bryan; two brothers, Ray Impton, Stryker, and Robert Impton, Bryan; three sisters, Mrs. Harlan M. (Donna Belle) Coy, route 1 Stryker, Mrs. Clarence (Leona) Shirkey, and Mrs. Leo (Arleen) Franks, both of Bryan; ans seven grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday from the chapel of the Oberlin & Ford Memorial Funeral home, Bryan, with the Rev. Jerome Rhinehart, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, officiating. Interment is to be in Shiffler Cemetery.
Calling hours are after 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, where the family will receive friends 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
