Joseph was the fourth of five children born to John J. & Anna (Rezacek) Nemetz -- his first two siblings died as infants and his younger sister, Mary died in 1924 at age 28.

"Joseph Nemetz, 70, of the town of Franklin died Sunday night in the Two Rivers hospital where he was admitted just a short time before his death.

"Funeral services were held in Saint Joseph Church, Norman (WI) with Reverend Hubert Niles officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. For the past forty years he had lived in the Town of Franklin at the home of Mrs. Anna (Wenzel) Dufek, where he was employed as a farm laborer.

"He never married. One sister survives him, Mrs William Blanchard, Manitowoc and three nieces and five nephews. The body was at the Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Pallbearers were Simon Grenier, Charles Nalenta, Harvey Worachek, Alvin Bernanek, Victor Dufek and James Dufek."
