Obituary:

Arturo A. Aguirre, 81, a resident of Silver City, entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 25, at Gila Regional Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 1, 1918, in El Paso, Texas, to Carlos and Zenaida (Andazola) Aguirre.

He was employed as a chauffeur at the Fort Bayard Veterans Hospital and. retired in 1963. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a communicant at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Luz Aguirre of Silver City; two sons, Arturo Aguirre Jr. of Silver City, and Thomas Aguirre and his companion, Eva Grijalva, of Silver City; and a daughter, Zenaida, and her husband, Richard D. Rivera, of Las Cruces. Also surviving are 11 grandchild- dren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Baca's Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil beginning at 7. Deacon Bill Holguin will recite the holy rosary. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Rod Nichols officiating. The rite of committal and burial will follow at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. Veterans honors will be accorded by local veterans groups. Casket bearers will be his godson, Rudy Murillo, Manuel, Mike, Reyes, Adolfo and Willie Andazola, and Julio Chavez. Honorary bearers are all his compadres, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels, U.S. 180 East at Delk Drive. Phone 388 2334.
