Mr. Furman James Murphy Sr., age 52, passed peacefully on Sunday morning, January 14, 2007, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Ind., after a short illness. He was a Bulloch County native; however resided in South Bend, Ind., for 42 years. Mr. Murphy retired from Uniroyal Tire Factory and was a member of First A.M.E. Church of South Bend, Ind.
Mr. Murphy is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Paulette Chatman Murphy of South Bend, Ind.; four daughters, Mrs. Monique Pinkey, Mrs. Tamara Pinkey and Ms. Tiffany Murphy, all of South Bend, Ind., and Mrs. Trina Murphy of Toledo, Ohio; one son, Mr. Furman James Murphy jr. of South Bend, Ind.; one brother, Mr. Randy Murphy of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Janice Vanison and Mrs. Vernell Moore, both of Statesboro; three aunts, Mrs. Odell Lee and Mrs. Ouida Pearson, both of Statesboro, and Mrs. Adeline Wigfall Jones of South Bend, Ind.; 10 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 20, at 11 a.m. in Robena Raymond Memorial Chapel at Craig R. Tremble and Sons Funeral Home, Pastor Timothy Lee officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
