OBITUARY

Robert J. Adams

Robert J. Adams, 65, of Bedford R.2, well-known Bedford County auctioneer and livestock dealer died at 6:10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18 at the Timmins hospital. He had been in charge of auction sales throughout Bedford county for the past 20 years.

He was born Aug. 16, 1882, a son of John Q. and Maude (Bowser) Adams. He is survived by three children: Ross, Alexandria, VA; Gene, stationed with the Navy in Philadelphia, and Lois, Washington, D.C. Also surviving are a brother, Dr. Sherwood Adams, Roaring Spring, and a sister, Mrs. Flora Dextra, also of Roaring Spring.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Geisel funeral home, Bedford, the Rev. Thomas Garner, pastor of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church officiating. Interment was in Fishertown Cemetery.

Robert J. Adams of Bedford RD, died Sunday evening at the Timmins Hospital, Bedford after an illness of two weeks. He was the son of John Q. and Annie (Bowser) Adams, both deceased and was born at Blue Knob, Aug. 14, 1882. Surviving are three children: Ross J. and Lois Marie, both of Washington, D.C., and Philip Eugene in the navy; one sister, Mrs. Flora J. Dexter and one brother, Dr. Sherwood M. Adams, both of Roaring Spring, and two grandchildren. He was a member of the Reformed Church of Bedford.
