S. Sgt. Howard E. Found Had Been Overseas Three Months
A War Department telegram was received by Mrs. Betty M. Found of 117 Exchange Street, Keokuk, Sunday informing her that her husband, S. Sgt. Howard E. Found, has been killed in action over Germany.
Staff Sergeant Found was a nose gunner on a heavy bomber but particulars of his death were given. The message, from the Adjutant General's Office, read as follows:
"The Secretary of War desires me to express his deep regret that your husband, was killed in action April 22 over Germany. A letter follows."
Sergeant Found would have been in the Army Air Corps 17 months on May 30. He entered the Army at Memphis, and had been overseas for the last three months, stationed in England.
Mrs. Found received her last letter from him dated March 20.
He was reared in the Arbela community and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Found.
