Daughter of Elisha George Purtle and Clara (Clarry) Curtis of Wright County, Missouri, Margie married Sylvanus Bowman Gideon of Hartville in 1917. About a month before her death, Margie gave birth to the couples first and only child, Margaret Frances Gideon. Margie died from complications from that birth in the town of Hartville. She was an absolutely beautiful young woman taken far too soon in life, just 19 years old.
