The 1860 US census (taken July 23, 1860) lists Pamelia and Tristram with their servant, Mary A. Townsend. Tristram managed a "Poor House". After Pamelia's death Tristram married Mary A. Townsend Feb 18, 1862. On Emma's marriage certificates Mary Townsend is listed as her mother but Emma's birth and death certificates make it clear that her biological mother was Pamelia Frye. The 1870 census reveals that Emma had three half siblings: James H. Bailey (b. ~1864), Mary P. Bailey (b.1867) and Eben E. Bailey (b. ~1869).
Emma first married Silas D. Daland, sometimes spelled Dalana (m. June 17,1882 )who died by accidental drowning August 13, 1882, within 6 weeks of their marriage. His gravestone reads "We shall meet beyond the tears". Her second marriage was to William Wallace Brown (m. April 30, 1888). William had a son named Ralph Sydney Brown (b. June 3, 1877) from his first marriage. William and Emma had the following children together: William Tristram Brown b. Oct. 16, 1889; Claude Wilbur Brown b. April 7, 1891; Harold Maynard Brown b. Oct. 4, 1896.
Emma died at the age of 84 from chronic interstitial nephritis. She lived in the Lawrence Home for Aged People the last 15 years of her life. She was a descendent of at least six Revolutionary War Patriots recognized by the Daughters of the American Revolution - William Bailey, James Fry (Frye) Jr., Col. James Fry (Frye) Sr., Joseph Blood, Royal Blood, and Seth Emerson.
