Persia- Funeral services were held from the Latter Day Saints church for Edwin T. Corbett, 76 who died in Mercy hospital , Council Bluffs, New Years day after an illness of several weeks. The services were conducted by the Rev. Peter Trucano and burial was in the Persia Valley View cemetery.
He was born in Vinton, but had been a resident of this vicinity for many years. July 26, 1892 he was married to Iva Mershon. Following her death he was married in 1928 to Lilly Evans.
He is survived by his widow: three children, Lyle and Gertrude of Cedar Rapids and Albert of Waterloo: seven step-children, Charles Evans of Omaha, Eva Weimer of Orson, Ada McGinty of Council Bluffs, Frances Hixson of South Dakota, Floyd Evans of Plainview, Neb., Gladys Chambers and Ida Chambers of Persia: a sister, Mrs. Mary Powell of Crescent, Okla., three brothers, Bert of Walla Walla, Waah., Frank of Chicago and David of California: seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
