Dotty May McKarns, 75, of Bryan, died unexpectedly of a possible heart attack early this morning, Monday, Oct. 15, 2001.
The daughter of Emma (Davis) and Roy Kerr, she was born Sept. 12, 1926, in Bryan. She was the widow of Charles Hobart "Hob" McKarns, who preceded her in death on Friday, Oct. 12.
A graduate of Bryan High School and Bowling Green State University, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Wesley United Methodist Church and Women's Circle, The Progressive Study Club, and served on the Williams County Election Board.
Surviving are a sister, Nancy (Kerr) Hatzenikoles; two children, Becky (and husband, Glenn) Shearer of Bryan and Tony McKarns of Richland, Wash.; grandchildren, Amanda (Ken) MacFarlane, Melissa (Rob) Kidder and Mary Beth Shearer; and two great-grandsons, Timothy and Christopher MacFarlane.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, were her parents.
Joint visitation for Dotty and Hob will be today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home, and Tuesday from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church.
Joint funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. David David officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church, the Bryan Area Foundation, P.O. Box 651, Bryan, OH 43506, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
