James R. Clark, 80, of Ironton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday (January 24, 2007) at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Floyd County, Kentucky native was born May 26, 1926, the son of the late Grady and Maxie Roop Clark.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Powers Clark, whom he married March 16, 1946.

Mr. Clark retired from National Mine Service Company in Ashland and Greenup, Kentucky, where he was a machinist. Since retiring 18 years ago, his hobby has been flea marketing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by:

Funeral service was at Hayes-Phillips Funeral Home, 509 South 6th Street, Ironton with Rev. Rock Massie and Rev. David Lambert officiating. Burial followed in Highland Memorial Gardens.
