The city was distressed Wednesday morning when the news came that Mrs. Gordon Cilley of Philadelphia,had died suddenly at 2o'clock of acute Bright's disease. To add to the pathos of the case, Mr. Cilley was away from the home,having reachedHickory last Saturday and left Monday in Company with his brother,Mr.JL Cilley and Mr. A.M. West for a fishing trip at Linville Falls——-
Mrs. Cilley was Miss Maude Shuford,the winsome cultured daughter of the late A. A.
Shuford and had but recently left the city to return to her northern home after attending the funeral of her father here in the early part of May.Besides Mr. Cilley,two little daughters survive,Virginia Harper and Adelaide Campbell.
Mr. and Mrs.Cilley have lived in Philadelphia for a number of years.Mr. Cilley being connected with Wanamaker 's advertising department.
The funeral will be held at 10 A.M. tomorrow at the Reformed Church.
