CHESAPEAKE - Robert Edward Powers, 64, of Shoal Creek Trail, went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2007 in Norfolk. A native of Norfolk, he was the son of the late Winfred C. and Amelia Denny Powers. A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he was the owner of Bullet Drive Remanufacturing Co. He attended Atlantic Shores Baptist Church, and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was a member and treasurer of the Southside Golf Association and attended the Calvary Temple Wednesday Men's Prayer Group.

Surviving are his wife, Claudia Baker Powers; two daughters, Ashley Powers and her fiancée, Daniel Morgan of Chesapeake and Mary Jane Roszkowski of Virginia Beach; one son, Mark Edward Powers, Sr. of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, Jenna Powers, Mark E. Powers, Jr. and Angela Roszkowski; one sister, Ann Ashmore of Elizabeth City, NC; and his father and mother-in-law, Earl and Myrtle Baker of Chesapeake.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at Noon in Calvary Temple Church with Rev. Lamar Sentell officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel on Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at 621 Emerald Court, Chesapeake at all other times. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Cincinnati Burns Hospital, 3229 Burnet Avenue, Cincinnati, OH
