US Senator. Served as a United States Senator from Maine from 1911 to 1917. Also served as a Democratic Candidate for Governor of Maine in 1892, and 1894, Mayor of Waterville, Maine, in 1893, Member of Maine State House of Representatives from 1905 to 1907, Delegate to Democratic National Convention from Maine in 1916, and Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the 1st District from 1917 to 1929.
