Mary C. Messick. Funeral for Mrs. Mary Cynthia Messick, 74, of 4139 Woodland St., will be at 11 am Thursday in the Newhart Family Garden Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Baldwin of the Santa Maria English Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating. Burial will be in Santa Maria Cemetery.
Mrs. Messick, a Santa Maria area resident for about two years, was born Aug. 26, 1899, in Norman, Okla. and died Sunday evening in a local hospital. She was the daughter of the late Irvin E. and Minnie Farnsworth and was a descendant of some of the Founders of the Seventh-day Adventlst Church.
Survivors are five sons, Gerald F. Mack of Santa Maria, with whom she resided, Swane A. Mack of Commerce, Okla., Nolan G. Mack of Gilbert, Ariz., Richard D. Messick of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Garland L. Messick of Redwood City; a daughter, Mrs. Wanda J. Lawrence of Salinas; a brother, Velmer D. Farnsworth of Bonnerdale, Ark.; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Messick was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and through service time Thursday.
