Wilma L. "Gigi" MacDonald, 84, of Edwardsville, formerly of Springfield, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

She was born July 30, 1919, in Loami, the daughter of Daniel R. and Lela Meredith Buck. She married Maj. Robert H. MacDonald in 1939 in Palmyra, Mo.; he died in 1956. A daughter, Roberta Dial, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. MacDonald earned a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1976 and retired as a program coordinator from Edwardsville Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of West Side Christian Church and a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Chatham.

Survivors: a son, Robert Harold II (wife, Denise) MacDonald of Edwardsville; two daughters, Sandra MacDonald (husband, Wayne) Crome of Edwardsville and Patricia MacDonald Warren; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Daniel R. Buck Jr. of Springfield; and a sister, Thelma Davenport of Springfield.

Services: noon Tuesday, West Side Christian Church, the Rev. Charles L. Lee officiating.

Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery.
