MRS. CLAUD PHILLIPS DIES OF INJURIES Relatives and friends , shocked to hear of the death of Mrs. Claude Phillips of Wisner, former resident of Dodge, at the hospital at Wayne, Monday afternoon. Mrs. Phillips suffered a broken arm in an accident at her home in Wisner, Friday evening. It was thought at first she was not seriously injured but it was later found she ha suffered internal injuries. She became very ill Sunday when she was taken to the Wayne hospital where she passed away Monday afternoon. A devoted wife and mother, beloved by all who knew her, she will be greatly missed by not only her immediate family, but by host of friends and acquaintances. Leona Stangel Phillips was bom to Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Stangel on April 30th 1902 at Snyder and -died at the age of 43 years, 21 days. The family resided in Dodge for a number of years and moved to Wisner from here.. She was active in church work and was a member of the Christian Mother Society. She is survived by her husband. Mrs. Noami Brazda and daughter Jo Ann have been making their home with her parents, since her husband was killed in action about a year ago, She is also survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Stangel of Dodge and the following brothers ana sisters: Mrs. Charles Mrs-ny, Scribner; Mrs. Glen Robinson, Glenwood, Iowa; Mrs. James Sinde-lar, Dodge; Mrs. Melvin Kelberlau, Pam pa, Texas; Catherine Stangel, Dodge; John Stangel, Albion, Rudy Stangel, Dodge; Pfc. Frank Stangel, Philippines; Sgt Wilfred Stangel, Scotts Bluff, Nebr.; S$gt Raymond Stangel, Germany; and one granddaughter, JoAnn have been making their home with her parents, since her husband was killed in action about a year ago. Funeral services will be conducted this Thursday morning . in the Catholic church at Wisner at 9:00 oclock with Rev. Father Rose tn charge.- Burial will be in St Leos cemetery Snyder where the bodies of her children repose.
