"The most important job of the official demonstration team, the Thunderbirds, is the performance of the aerial view. But without the publicity prior to the show there might not be an audience. The publicity is provided by a team of information specialists headed by Capt William Edgar Gregory, Jr, formerly information officer for the 1st Special Operations Wing at Hurlburt Field. Captain Gregory, a native of Stockton, Calif, came to Hurlburt in Nov of 1968 from the Air Force Academy. He first served as assistant information officer and later as information officer. While stationed there he took part in many military and civic events and was vice-president of the Northwest Press Club. The Captain is a graduate of the Information Officer course at the Department of Defense, Fort Benjamin Harrison, Ind. and has completed some graduate courses in public relations and communications at the University of Oklahoma at Norman Okla. Captain Gregory coordinates all the teams operational, material, logistical, public relations requirements and activities of the show's sponsors. He is married to the former Phyllis A Wisby and has a one year old daughter", Allison.
