Deceased Name: Charles W. Gunderson
Charles William Gunderson, a cabinet maker and owner and operator of Gundy's Cabinet Shop, died Monday in a local hospital. He was 73.
Gunderson, a native of Killingly, Conn., was a resident of Theodore.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and had been a prisoner of war in Japan.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Mae Balch Gunderson of Mobile; four children, Mark Gunderson of Plainfield, Conn., Heidi Solor of Killingly, Louise Gunderson and Lee Gunderson, both of South Carolina; two stepsons, Curtis Baldwin of Mobile and Karl Baldwin of Semmes; a sister, Ellen Carpenter of Rhode Island; a brother, Norman Gunderson of Killingly; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Graveside services are set for 3 p.m. today at Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home of Semmes is directing.
