Robert Livingston Thompson b. Sept. 10, 1850, in Washington, DC; d. of a sun stroke Apr. 20, 1900, in Sykesville, MD. On Jan. 27, 1881, married in Natchez, MS, Isabelle Munce who d. Oct. 13, 1891, a granddaughter of John Anthony Quitman, a Brigadier General in the Mexican War and later governor of Mississippi. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson lived at "Limerick Plantation" in Point Pleasant Parish, LA. They had four children:
1. Gilbert Livingston Thompson b. Dec. 17, 1881 at "Limerick Plantation"; d. Oct. 29, 1945, in Washington, DC. He married (1st) Helen Edith Roland who d. in 1936, a daughter of the Hon. James Roland, mayor of Hagerstown, MD and his wife Helen Benton. On Oct. 22, 1938, he married (2nd) Mrs. Ellen (Gregory) Goggins. Mr. Thompson had no children by either marriage and he and his first wife are buried in Arlington National Cemetery. At his death, he was a retired Colonel in the US Army, and he was a member of the Maryland branch of the Society of the Cincinnati in descent from his great-great-grandfather, Capt. John Worthington Dorsey, of the Maryland State Troops.

3. Quitman Thompson b. in 1885; d. Jan. 4, 1890 of diphtheria.
4. Leila Dorsey Thompson b. July 15, 1890. She was brought up by Arthur Livingston Thompson and his first wife Eliza Thompson.
