Stephen "Mike" Ellis, 68, of Pennville died at 10:49 p.m. Sunday April 6, 2008, at his residence.
Born in Delaware County to Robert and Lorena (Gray) Ellis on May 15, 1939, he married Millie (Pinkston) Ellis on Nov. 27, 1966, in Marion. She survives him.
A 1957 graduate of Muncie Central High School, he worked at Meshberger Brothers Stone Corporation in Linn Grove and at Corning Glass Company in Bluffton until the factory closed. He was a member of Union Chapel Church of the Nazarene in Jay County.
Other surviving relatives include one daughter, Tammy Ellis of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; one son, Michael (Lisa) Ellis of Fiat; one brother, Phil (Lois) Ellis of Dalesville; three sisters, Jane Overla of Muncie, Bonnie (Bob) Lacy of Yorktown and Mary Marshall of Yorktown; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Glancy Funeral Homes – Walker Chapel in Montpelier. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Montpelier.
Preferred memorials are to Family Hospice of Northeast Indiana, the American Cancer Society or Union Chapel Church of the Nazarene.
