Robert Shelby (Shell) WARREN was born in Sugar Valley, Gordon Co, GA, on 2 May 1855 to parents John T. Warren and Mary Jane Russell.
- 1860 Census on 31 Jul 1860 at Resaca, Gordon Co, GA: Mary, James, Elizabeth, Robert, Roanna and Lucille were listed as a household member living with John T. WARREN.
- 1870 Census on 25 Aug 1870 at Calhoun Post Office, Gordon Co, GA Sarah, James, Elizabeth, Robert, Roanna, Lucille, John and Mary were listed as household members living with John T. WARREN
- Shelby married Zora WRIGHT in Gordon Co, GA, on 15 Jan 1880. It appears that this was a double wedding ceremony because the Gordon County marrage records show that Zora Wright's sister, Catherine Elizabeth Wright, married Julius Alexander Strain on the same day, 15 Jan 1880, and by the same minister, Rev. J. A. Johnson.
- 1880 Census on 14 Jun 1880 at Sugar Valley, Gordon Co, GA, Robert, Lucille and Zora were listed as household members living with Mary A. Russell (Mary Jane Russell Warren's mother who lived next door to John T & Mary Jane.
- 1900 Census on 12 Jun 1900 at Greenwood, Wise, TX, Robert Shelby (Shell) WARREN was enumerated along with household members Zora, Robert Arthur, Colonel Edgar, Carl Benjamin, Ernest Wright, Clyde Irvin, Roy Lee, and Dock Talmadge.
- The Family Group photo was taken in 1918 in Martha, Jackson Co, OK just before brothers Clyde and Roy Warren left for France during WW I. Son Ernest was not in photo and wife Zora Wright Warren had died in 1902.
- Son Roy was killed in WW I. Roy and Clyde made each other the beneficiary for their death benefits. Clyde gave the money he received for Roy's death to his father who then moved to Norman, OK and bought a farm from the original settler.
- Obituary: R.S. Warren, a pioneer Jackson county citizen, moved from Texas with his wife and family in 1900 and settled on a farm near Martha, OK. Zora Warren died later the same year and was buried in the Martha Cemetery.
- Shelby died on 31 Jul 1936 at his home East of Norman, Cleveland Co, OK, at age 81. His body was interred in the Martha Cemetery next to his wife Zora. According to grandson Van B Warren & granddaughter Doris Warren Thrower, Shelby died at his home East of Norman and the body was shipped via train to Martha, OK.
