2011 obituary. AUGUSTA -- Frances M. Genthner, 89, of Pittston, died with family at her side at MaineGeneral Medical Center, on March 23, 2011, after a short illness. She was born in Gardiner on Feb. 28, 1922, the daughter of Leland and Alice Bailey. She graduated from Gardiner High School in 1940. She was employed for many years at Danforth's Studio in Gardiner. She also co-owned and operated Drew's Power Cleaning with her husband for 31 years. Frances married Chester Genthner in 1942. She was a member of St. Michael's Parish, attending for many years at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gardiner. Frances was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Louis Bailey; and a son-in-law, Wilfred Berdan. She is survived by her daughter, Nettie Berdan; grandson Wilfred Berdan II; great-granddaughter Gillian Berdan; brother David Bailey; sister Ellen Sullivan; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and her dachshund, Buddy. Per Frances' wishes, there will be no visiting hours or service.
