Oscar "Punky" Paulson, 18 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Paulson of Kathryn was killed in an automobile accident early Sunday morning, January 21, 1979. Heather Froemke, 17 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Froemke of Litchville, is hospitalized with extensive injuries as a result of the accident. Bruce Smith, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren smith of Kathryn, was hospitalized overnight for observation. Larry Langer, 23, of Fingal, alone in the other car, was not injured.
Services for Paulson will be today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kathryn with the Rev. Donald Ostroot officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Nordheim Cemetery. Arrangements are by Oliver's Chapel.
Survivors include his parents, Oscar and Julie Paulson; one brother, Roy, at home; one sister, Roberta, also at home; his grandfather, Roy Paulson of Mesa, Ariz.; his grandmother, Mrs. Maude Bouskek of Alexandria, Minn., and three half-brothers, James, Thomas and Steven Switzerberg, all of Minneapolis.
Born December 10, 1960, at St. Paul, Minn., Oscar Ilnglow Paulson, Jr., was baptized in the Lutheran faith. On March 1, 10963, his family moved to Litchville Township in LaMoure County. He was confirmed in the Nordheim Lutheran Church, where he was a member. A senior at Kathryn High School, he had played basketball his first three years of high school.
