William H. Nuckols, Jr., born May 31, 1916, in Memphis, Tenn., passed away at his home Sunday March 16, 2008, at the age of 91.

"Bill" served in the Marine Corps for 22 years. He served in WWII and in Korea. He was a "distinguished" shooter and was awarded numerous medals. After reaching the rank of Major, he retired with his family to San Diego where he became a real-estate broker. He was the first sales manager at Scripps Ranch when it opened. He also worked at Bay Ho, Tierrasanta, La Costa, and other developments. Bill wrote reams of poetry and loved music, especially the organ. He was also an avid golfer and even shot three holes-in-one!

Preceded in death by his first wife Beulah and his son Charles Robert. Survivors include his wife, Pat Gresham Nuckols; a son Wm. H. Nuckols, III, of Dessert Hot Springs; one daughter, Nancy Jolley, of Orem, Utah; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Services will be held on Wednesday, March 26th, at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.
