Ginger graduated from San Mateo High School and afterwards worked for the Gates Company Boutique in Burlingame. Later she took flight lessons and became a licensed pilot in light aircraft.
She first married Alex Cordes and resided in Los Altos. She had two children: Randy and Karen (KC.) In 1964 she married James D. Ramage in Rome. Ginger lived a very active Navy life. Some of the areas they resided in included Washington, D.C., Albuquerque, N.M., Coronado, Whidbey Island, Wash., Honolulu, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
Ginger was very active in support of her community and naval activities. After her husband retired, they moved to Coronado in 1975 where she had lived previously. She had wanted to return to Coronado as their permanent home. She is well known throughout Coronado for her pleasant association with the people, her support to many different causes and for various fundraising for military organizations.
She was preceded in death by her son Randy Corders and her brother John Keesling. Ginger is survived by her husband Rear Adm. James D (Jig Dog) Ramage, ret., of Coronado; Karen (KC) Cordes of Gardner Valley; granddaughter Patricia Evans of Anza; sister Jane Trevor of Hillsborough; brother Tom Keesling of Denver; step-daughters Jamie Franzman of St. George, Utah; and Jaleen Edwards of Cornville, Ariz., along with other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ginger was a great Padres fan and loved the military. “Go Navy, go Padres.”
Interment will be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted in her name at the TailHook Education Foundation, 9696 Businesspark Avenue, San Diego, CA 92131-1643.
