James Arthur Rath, Ponca City resident, died Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at Ponca City Nursing Home. He was 91 years of age.

The funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, October 4, 2004 at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of the Trout Funeral Home.

James was born on November 29, 1912 in Braman, Oklahoma. He grew up in the Braman area and married Margie Stover on June 25, 1938 in Newkirk. She preceded him in death on October 18, 1997. He worked for many years as a crane operator for Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He is survived by: two sons, Jim Rath of Blackwell and Phillip Rath of Mannford; one daughter, Shirley Venegas of Newkirk; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and one brother Cecil Rath of Ponca City..

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 2 grandchildren and his brothers and sisters.
